Hello! My name is Anna. I’m from the sunny California. I really enjoy all outdoor activities and mother Nature herself. Here’s my story. Five years ago I was diagnosed with Scheuermann’s Disease while training to become a firefighter. It was devastating and scary. So I was referred to a spinal surgeon who didn’t know exactly how to treat me. It was about a year later when I had spinal fusion surgery (T-5 to L-1). I was so lost leading up to surgery and after during recovery. There is a lack of information for those going through this disease and from doctors which made me feel like it was all in my head and others didn’t understand what I was going through. It wasn’t until this year that I found a support group on Facebook (3 years post op)!!! This groups inspired me to make videos talking about my real life experience, mental health, chronic pain etc for those struggling just like I did. As well, reactions from my videos actually help me a lot! I really hope my stories can help those feeling lost, misunderstood or broken because of Scheuermann’s Disease. I’m here for you all!!
